2 Dead Gary's - Pre-Event

[The waves of Ash's emotion bubble, roil, and crash across the murmur in a more frantic and disjointed feeling than the last time. When she speaks up she sounds dazed and tired, but she tries to force that down as much as she can.]

[Okay. That came out backwards. Cool and normal. Don't mind her. She gives her head a shake.]

So about those subway tunnels. Ozpin and I went down to investigate- And I think we can safely say Don't go down there. They're infested with hosts- Not safe.

We managed to get out of there- I might have gotten a little beat up, but we got out.

[She might be dealing with the after effects of that now.]

But since we got out I’ve been seeing flashes and memories from when… I guess when all this happened- I saw flashes of so many different people, and they were all so scared- Then they looked up at the moon, and they started to change.

I don’t know if some of this is on the murmur- One of the messages I heard was the same as the one Jayce found - It kept repeating I am the teeth of god, I ma eht theeet fo dog…

[And the wave of her emotions suddenly rile up again. They buzz like that for a moment, and there's a sensation like they're being soothed, or even muffled.

After a moment a different voice cuts in: Ozpin. He sounds weary, slightly strained, but his words come through steady and clear. ]

... As Ash said, the unground areas are extremely dangerous. The hosts in the subway stations awoke before we traveled more than a few meters from the stairs. They were single-minded in their pursuit of us, and there was no clear limit to their numbers.

I can't recommend that anyone else venture into the subway. But for whoever inevitably chooses to explore them regardless, know that the hosts did stop pursuing us after we retreated back up the stairs.

You mean the cult crap? It wasn't until my... old man died. I guess everyone started to get pathetic and desperate for something to believe in.

I had one, unintentionally. The Herald had one; that was intentional. And Princess Long Legs had one, SUPER DUPER intentional.

Kind of wonder if the rest of my planet kind of felt the same way when Werthrent died. I mean we had plenty of other snake gods, but it was the major one that everyone came around for.

Okay. The Herald is a pretty culty name- but Princess Long Legs? Please tell me she was a giant spider-person.

Trust me, being a giant spider would be a huge improvement for her. But unfortunately for everyone in all worlds and dimensions, Long legs is just some prissy tea-drinking bitch my sister drools, barks, and rolls over for.

Oh it's like that.

Yeah, My dad has fawned over people like that. Usually it was to con them for their stuff. Last time around he conned us because he was heads over heels.

Family can really be hopeless sometimes, huh?

[she says this, and the thought appears negative, but there's some fondness looming over that statement.]

[A little wave of acknowledgement hits against that fondness.]

They absolutely can.

...But I reached out to him again after that. Never thought he'd pull through, but he did.

I don't consider him my dad or anything anymore. But- maybe he's still got a chance.

Old-timers love pulling a fast one on us. A way to keep us on our toes, I guess.

Yeah. He was a pro at that. To say the very least about it.

Learned a lot from him, if nothing else.

I'm sure gold is what he had in mind when he was naming them. He was absolutely driven by money.

Calling him a weirdo is like the understatement of the century. But you've got the right type in mind.
