[ It's only a few days into the month, and her voice, when it filters through, is rough and edged with exhaustion. She gets to the point quickly despite the distant flutter of discomfort at bringing attention to herself this way. ] I've got a couple of questions for people.

One: how many of you died in the dream? You know, to that... thing—the one made out of all those freaky Vessel bits mashed together. [ Her tone carries a dry bite, but beneath that, the memory of it clearly unsettles her. ] Two: did anyone else see a memory before waking up of... I don't know, One, Espera, and the rest of that bunch.

[ Without warning, she pushes the memory through the Murmur. ] That's what I saw. Not really sure why I saw it, but... [ There it is.

There's another pause, long enough that it's obvious she's hesitating. Then: ] Lastly... How many of you have dealt with gods back home? Ever kill one?

Totally unrelated to our current situation. Obviously. [ MMHMM ]

[This particular shared memory really hits Toki; as someone whose most important people are his bandmates... well, this feels important.]

He used to have people to play with...

[Sure, sure, sorry about all that other stuff, he's got priorities. It's so sad!]

[Ash hadn't been in a band, but she knew something about being ripped away from the people who care. And for lashing out at the people who betrayed her.]

So it looks like we're getting the band back together again.

[Toki knows how hard it is being alone, wishing your most beloved people would come back to you, not knowing if they ever would. He knows how fights can happen sometimes, but they don't mean you don't still care.

There's a lot he doesn't understand about all of this, but he likes One. He considers him a friend. Of course he's gonna help.]

We're gonna... we're gonna get everybody together! And they can play together again.

[...And maybe he can jam with them too, before he can go back to his own family.]

[Jeez. It has been a long time since Ash has hung out with this kind of energy. It reminds her of the Team Squad and that makes her heart ache a little for multiple reasons.

Having been someone who split off from a group, it was awkward to be bringing one back together again.]

Y-yeah.

I guess that's something that could happen.

It can!

[Toki seems a lot more confident about it. Because he's been here before, sort of. Not exactly the same, but his band almost fell apart. And after that, he'd almost died before they came to save him. People hurt each other, but things can be fixed, he's sure of it. Nathan and Pickles apologized to each other. Why couldn't One do the same?]

It can happen, and we're gonna do it.

[And if they have to kill Sleep along the way, then oh well, they were gonna do it anyway.]

I wonder where the other guys went...

[If they have to find all these pieces of Two, are the others in pieces too??]

[Ash gives a little sound that could be agreement, but there's enough uncertainty that it makes it a little questionable.]

No idea... The islands not all that big.

You kind of think we would have run into some signs of them by now.

Now that we know the music angle- That might not be a bad place to start?

Oh! That's a really good idea! I got to jam with One in the dream, I think he liked it.

[That was a part of the dream that he'd really enjoyed, before everything went to shit.]

The other guys might like it too. If we... if we find a bunch of people who do music, and we all jam in the Murmur, 'cause amps don't work and everything, and we play a bunch... maybe the other guys'll hear it?

[He's pretty sure it wouldn't hurt, after all, and he knows he's not the only musician here.]

[She was just going to scour around music stores, but this was a bit more on brand.]

I'm not really all that musically capable. That was more my brother's thing. Back when he could play.

Oh, what did you have in mind? Maybe we can do that too. The more stuff we do, maybe it'll all help.

[Or it might not do anything, but he'd like to be optimistic about this. For One's sake, and for all of their sakes too.]

But... it's okay. I know there's some other people who can play stuff. What did your brother play?

Oh. I was just thinking there are probably a bunch of like stores that probably sell instruments.

They had to get their equipment from somewhere right? Seems like we could at least get some information.

Or if we're bringing the band back together any musicians we have around here will need something to play.

[It's just an idea at least.]

A violin. He couldn't play anymore- but from what I understand he had been good at it.

Oh, yeah! There's Guitar Center that One told me about, but I keep telling people about that one. So I don't know what all they have left.

[It's the one he knows about, though, and of course he's going to share his information when he can. It's just the nice thing to do.]

We could find all the places that have stuff, make a list, then we can tell people to go there to find stuff so we can all play together and find those guys.

[If only his bandmates could see him now, coming up with really useful ideas.]

Don't know much about violin, but it's cool he could do that when he could.

Okay! Well that's a start. Have you checked it yourself? Might have a couple clues about the guy now that we know we're looking into a band of some sort.

[Still she likes where this going.]

Good idea. Maybe we should ask what people know how to play too. Odds are we'll find something like it around here.

I didn't check everything, but I know they had some stuff that wasn't all messed up. I got a really good guitar, and some strings, and I went back and got some amps one time but I don't know if they work because I can't check 'em.

[One thing he knows they didn't have was a lute, because it's Guitar Center and not Lute Center, probably.]

Gonna be easier to find some stuff than other stuff too. Like there's probably more guitars than those crazy instruments they use for movie soundtracks and stuff. So we'll know who we need to look harder for.
