[ if you're a veteran and this particular vessel feels familiar to you, you'll notice something off about her. normally when she promotes like this, there's a lot of enthusiasm behind it — a bit loud, in your face, and certainly chaotic to boot. this time, her fire of excitement has been reduced to a steady lull. it's a laze flick of an interruption with whatever you were doing on via murmur prior to this. but at least, it's straight to the point. ]

Pretty swell, but a little beat! Got to kill some people and it was like taking a trip down memory lane. And the best part is, I offed people who didn't matter! So it was a win-win

Hmm, all right. Aventurine did mention that Jinx can be quite intense, so Caelus was already prepared to hear pretty much anything. Still, it saddens him to hear that she actively enjoyed being a Seeker (at least, that's what he thinks she's referring to), but he thoughtfully accounts that she might not be in the best headspace. He wants to get to know her better, so he can find a way to hopefully help her. Maybe she just needs more people who can really understand her. ]

You've gotta be nasty if you want to survive in Zaun. But you're also talking to the most wanted criminal. Slightly resigned.

[ Considering what Caelus knows of Jinx so far, the self-admittance of being a criminal isn't that surprising. He has a lot of questions, though. ]

So, is Zaun the place you grew up in? What kind of place is it?

[ If Jinx willingly resigned from being a criminal, does that mean she found a different way to make a living? Hopefully, a better one. ]

And what made you change your mind?

Why tell you when I can show it to you? If you're not scared, that is. What changed my mind is that I can pull off all the crimes here, and no one would give a squat. Except for that one guy I ran into who has a health condition about that sort of thing.

You don't mind? I'd like to see it.

[ As a Nameless, it's part of Caelus's duties to seek the unknown. He won't retreat if there's something meaningful to be gained, no matter how frightening it may be. But to him, he doesn't feel the need to be scared about this. After all, this is someone's past. He knows to respect it. ]

[ he asks, and he shall receive. rather than saying anything, caelus will get a memory as promised. it's a very old memory, during the very calmer times of zaun. not that she felt the chaotic vibe of her city unpleasant; it was just as beautiful in her eyes. but jinx felt showing this particular memory would give him a more understanding than all the blaring music and neon lights winking in his every direction. ]
